Everyone I know hates Windows 8. I cannot believe that Microsoft thought that people would have a touch screen on the server. That metro screen is useless. Why can't Microsoft just stick with what they are good at?
Maybe just stick to Xbox and keep Windows looking and working like Windows 7. Thanks for sharing this good tips!!! Better than the awful metro interface for launching admin tools I agree, haultj. If anything, they should be working more on the security of things - keep updating on protections from viruses, trojans, worms, etc.
I almost forgot. They need to improve on IE. IE has sucked for a while now as a web browser. It hardly ever works unless you are using a Microsoft product. Seriously, it seems to only function with its own products. I'm not surprised since it is the way they seem to want it, but they are forgetting that the customers are the ones that make the decisions of keeping them on their "payroll".

Windows Server and Windows 8 never had a start button, R2 and 8. Your only options are using the charms menu or using the keyboard. Drag your mouse to the very right edge of the screen, you'll get the slider window. There's a start button on it.
I think you have Windows Server that doesn't have an Start Button. Put the cursor in the very bottom left corner, if you hover over the few pixels in that area the Start button appears:.
